Mark your calendars for this Wednesday evening, when the Castlefrank School Council will be hosting a parent meet-and-greet followed by the first school council meeting of the school year.Date: Wednesday October 5th, 2022Location: Castlefrank School LibraryEvening Schedule• 6:30-7:00pm – Drop in/meet and greet. An informal opportunity to meet and mingle with other school parents, ask questions about school council, and offer ideas and suggestions for the upcoming school year. Light refreshments will be served.• 7:00pm – First school council meeting of the year. Everyone is welcome! We will hear updates from the principal and teachers, and discuss options for this year’s lunch programs, fundraisers, and community events. Meetings typically last for 1.5-2hrs, however you are welcome to stay for as long or as little as you can. We will also be electing the council executive at this meeting – more information below.Note: If you cannot make it on Wednesday, but would like to put your name forward for an executive position or are interested in future volunteer opportunities, please email sc-castlefrankes@ocdsb.ca to let us know.School Council ElectionsAlthough everyone has a voice at council meetings, a team of executive members is elected each year to carry out specific roles on the school council. This year we are looking to fill a number of these positions, including chair/co-chair, co-treasurer, recording secretary, OCASC representative, communications coordinator, and members at large. This is a great way to get involved, meet new people, and help make decisions to enrich your child’s school year.
