In an effort to use less paper in our communications this year, the Castlefrank School Council newsletters will now be distributed via email.  Keep an eye out for one every few months!  They are full of upcoming events, dates, and information.  You should have received the first newsletter of the year in a recent email from our principal, Sarah Pope.  If not, click here for a copy.

Here are some of the highlights of the September newsletter:

  • First School Council Meeting – the first school council meeting of the year will be taking place on Wednesday September 19th, at 7pm in the school library. Council elections will be taking place at this meeting, so if you are interested in holding a position on Council, or just want to find out more about the year ahead, come on out and join us!  Everyone is welcome.
  • Hot Lunch Program – There are a number of hot lunch and snack options available to order this year, including hot dog, pizza, and popcorn days. Funds raised through these programs will help support a variety of School Council initiatives to enrich student life at Castlefrank. Please note that this year the preferred method of ordering is through School Cash Online, however paper forms can be provided upon request. All hot lunch and popcorn orders are due Monday September 17.  For more information, visit the Hot Lunch page.
  • Apple Basket Program – The Castlefrank Apple Basket is a program initiated and run by our school families. A basket of apples (and sometimes other seasonal fruit) is located in the school office, and filled twice a week. Any student who need a healthy snack is welcome to drop in (with a big hello to Susan and Amy) and get an apple from the basket. Each Monday and Wednesday (or Tuesday/Thursday if it’s a long weekend), a Castlefrank family will donate 2 bags (approximately 8-10lbs) of washed apples.  Please visit the sign up page to help us keep the apple basket filled.
