The annual Castlefrank Holiday Fundraiser is coming up next Friday December 8th, from 6-8pm in the school gym. This has become an annual event, where 100% of the proceeds are donated to the school to support local CES families in need this holiday season. Families are asked to “Pay What You Can” as your admission fee to the event, as a donation towards the fundraiser. In addition to a family movie (to be voted on by the students), there will be refreshments for sale as well as a silent auction, with all money raised going right back into our school community.
Details: Doors open at 5:45pm, and admission is by donation. Everyone will receive a snack and drink with their admission, and additional refreshments (pizza, cookies, and other snacks) will be available for purchase. Siblings are welcome, but all kids must be accompanied by an adult (no drop-offs permitted). Pyjamas and festive holidays sweaters encouraged!!

Silent Auction and Gift Basket Donations
As part of this year’s silent auction, we are putting together holiday-themed gift baskets – and we need your help! Each class has been assigned a specific “theme”, and students are asked to bring in an item or two to go related to that theme, to be used in a gift basket. Please keep in mind that participation is completely optional, and these do not need to be big priced items. The idea is to get the kids involved by having them pick out an item, and then getting to see their item displayed in a gift basket at auction time (they get so excited!).
Please find below the gift basket themes assigned to each class, along with suggested items. The items listed below are just suggestions – the sky is the limit when it comes to your theme!!
Papillons, Shadows – “Craft Pack / Art Time” (e.g. paint, markers, colouring pages, paper, craft supplies, etc.)
Dragonflies, Etoiles – “Baking” (e.g. baking tools, cookie cutters, favourite recipes, decorations, etc.) –
Blueberries, Grenouilles – “Movie Night” (e.g. DVDs, movie passes, popcorn, seasoning, candy, etc.)
Rockstars, Red Apples – “Snow Fun” (e.g. hats, gloves, snow toys, snowman accessories, hand warmers, etc.)
Monarchs – “Game Night” (e.g. card games, board games, snacks, etc.)
Clowns, Alligators – “Hot Cocoa and Cookies” (e.g. mugs, cocoa mix, marshmallows, cookie mix or recipes, cookie cutters, etc.)
Minions, Banana Splits – “Breakfast Time” (e.g. pancake mix, spatula, juice glasses, tea and coffee, muffin liners, etc.)
Superheros – “Holiday Story Time” (e.g. story books, hot chocolate, treats, cozy blanket, etc.)
In addition to the items above, we are also looking for donations of large baskets, decorative boxes, bows and cellophane to create the gift baskets. Individual items or business donations towards the silent auction are gladly accepted too. Thank you for your support of this worthwhile event!
Please note that the deadline to send in or drop off donations has been extended until Wednesday December 6th, and items may be sent in with students, or dropped off in the school office.
